Waste Recycling Program

Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

Electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) is all equipment that requires electric current or electromagnetic fields to function properly, and the equipment necessary to generate, transmit and measure such currents and fields, and which is intended for use with a voltage rating not exceeding 1,000 volts for alternating current and 1,500 volts for direct current.

Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is electrical and electronic equipment or its components, consumables and subassemblies, from the moment they become waste.

The principle of extended producer responsibility applies to the waste stream of electrical and electronic equipment. Producers of electrical and electronic equipment are obliged to take the necessary measures to ensure that the waste electrical and electronic equipment they place on the market is collected separately and properly managed environmentally.

Producers may comply with the obligations established by one of the two systems allowed by law, through individual or collective extended producer responsibility systems.

Tellink's obligations as a manufacturer and producer of EEE

The manufacturers of EEE are obliged to adopt the necessary measures to ensure that the waste from these devices placed on the market is collected selectively and is correctly managed environmentally.

Tellink is registered under number 10088 in the Registry of Producers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism of the Government of Spain. Waste EEE manufactured by Tellink is treated, in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 110/2015, by the SCRAP (Extended Producer Responsibility Collective System) ECOTIC. ECOTIC is also responsible for managing compliance with all WEEE obligations on behalf of Tellink. ECOTIC. ECOTIC se encarga, además, de gestionar el cumplimiento de todas las obligaciones sobre RAEE en nombre de Tellink.

Where to deliver WEEE?

Users of electrical and electronic equipment used in their homes (domestic WEEE) must hand them in, when they dispose of them, so that they can be properly managed. This delivery will not entail any cost for the user. They can deliver the appliances in the clean points provided by the municipalities or other selective collection system of WEEE that the municipality has available. They can also be delivered to authorized waste managers for this type of waste. The user may require documentary proof of delivery.

In the case of WEEE for professional use from equipment put on the market after August 13, 2005, it must be delivered to the selective collection systems established by the producers (individual systems or integrated management systems) and the cost will be free of charge for the user. In the case of WEEE for professional use of equipment placed on the market before August 13, 2005, the organization of the collection shall be borne by the producers of EEE only in the case of replacement by new equivalent products or by new products performing the same functions. In other cases, the organization of the collection and the financing of its management will be the responsibility of the user.
